The 2013 Capital One Academic All-America Division III Baseball Team was announced today (May 29th) and two North Coast student-athletes were honored on the list. Allegheny senior outfielder Mike Kastelic (Johnstown, PA/Bishop McCort) {left}, a biochemistry major with a 3.93 GPA, was a second-team selection, while Oberlin junior Mike McDonald (Weston, CT/Weston) {right}, also a biochemistry and biology major with a 3.90 GPA, was named to the third team. To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.90 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
